Historique

History
A first establishment, at the place called Castel Vecchio, had been destroyed by the Angevins in the 13th century, and it was in the 16th century that the marshal of Thermes, under the reign of Henri II, founded the present citadelle encompassing presumably a strong tower which would be of Genoese origin (probable construction between 1487 – 1488, keep – il castello -, at the end of the promontory of the present citadelle).
