Les quatre lucarnes de type compagnonnique de cette maison forment un ensemble intéressant par les variantes qu'elles déclinent : lucarne à capucine à deux ou trois empanons et à croisillons losangés, guitarde. Elles montrent une cohérence entre elles, mais attestent également d'une tendance chartraine (ou en tous cas représentée dans ce quartier de Chartres par deux édifices) , si ce n'est l'oeuvre d'un même charpentier. Cette maison, autrefois située dans les faubourgs de Chartres, possède en outre des murs de refends en pans de bois et un système d'isolation en plomb comme c'était autrefois l'usage. La maison peut en conséquence soit avoir été édifiée après le relevé du cadastre napoléonien, soit avoir été modifiée. Une des pierres du mur en pan coupé porte gravée la date de 1835 qui permet de présumer que cette maison, y compris ses combles et lucarnes, a été élevée à cette date ou bien qu'elle a alors été modifiée.

History
The four dormer windows of craft-guild type of this house form an interesting ensemble by the variations they display: dormer with capucine with two or three panels and with lozenged cross-pieces, guitarde. They show a coherence between them, but also attest to a Chartres tendency (or in any case represented in this district of Chartres by two buildings), if not the work of the same carpenter. This house, formerly situated in the suburbs of Chartres, also possesses infill walls of timber framing and a lead insulation system as was formerly customary. The house can consequently either have been erected after the survey of the Napoleonic cadastre, or have been modified. One of the stones of the cut-corner wall bears engraved the date of 1835 which allows us to presume that this house, including its roof space and dormers, was erected at that date or that it was then modified.
