Le bâtiment a été édifié vers 1771-1772 d'après des projets datant de 1768, sur un terrain appartenant primitivement aux Bénédictines de Lyons-la-Forêt et contigu à une ancienne porte du château dont subsistent des vestiges du 12e siècle. Il a abrité tout d'abord la maréchaussée urbaine, puis la poste de 1877 à 1978. Il est aujourd'hui transformé en habitation.

History
The building was erected around 1771-1772 according to projects dating from 1768, on land originally belonging to the Benedictines of Lyons-la-Forêt and contiguous to an old gate of the château of which remains of the 12th century subsist. It first housed the urban constabulary, then the post office from 1877 to 1978. It is today converted into a dwelling.
