Monument commémoratif de la Première guerre mondiale, réalisé en 1924 sur le projet de l'architecte Robbe. Un socle en granit supporte un groupe en marbre de Carrare centré par le livre où sont inscrits les noms des soldats morts. Il est dominé par la statue de la "France éclairant le monde". A droite du livre se tient un poilu ; à gauche un obus est entouré d'une guirlande de laurier. Sur le degré du socle, un écolier regarde la liste des aînés morts, le Droit et la Liberté. Le dos du socle présente un bas-relief intitulé "l'attaque", signé Albert David. L'écolier du monument de la palce, accidenté en 1925, est remplacé par le sculpteur Laethier de Besançon.

History
Commemorative monument of the First World War, executed in 1924 on the design of architect Robbe. A granite base supports a group in Carrara marble centered by the book where are inscribed the names of fallen soldiers. It is dominated by the statue of "France enlightening the world". To the right of the book stands a soldier; to the left a shell is surrounded by a garland of laurel. On the step of the base, a schoolboy looks at the list of fallen elders, Right and Liberty. The back of the base presents a bas-relief entitled "the attack", signed Albert David. The schoolboy of the monument in the square, damaged in 1925, is replaced by sculptor Laethier of Besançon.
