Historique
Théâtre dont la construction fut décidée par la municipalité en 1835. Construit sur les plans de Vincent-Marie Boullé, architecte du département de la Haute-Vienne (1803-1864), auteur également de l'ancien théâtre municipal de Limoges, détruit. Salle à l'italienne à deux balcons, avec une loge d'avant-scène de chaque côté décorée d'une colonne corinthienne, remployée d'une chapelle de la ville. Trois façades visibles, aux percements très simples (baies cintrées au premier étage d'un avant-corps principal abritant le foyer. Machinerie manuelle en partie conservée. Agrandissement en façade principale et réfection de la décoration en 1929-1930 (ferronnerie art-déco, papiers peints de style Louis XVI), par l'architecte Talbourdeau fils, de Montluçon (1898-1975). Exploité en salle de cinéma de 1932 à 1984.

Theatre whose construction was decided by the municipality in 1835. Built according to the plans of Vincent-Marie Boullé, architect of the department of Haute-Vienne (1803-1864), also author of the former municipal theatre of Limoges, destroyed. Italian-style hall with two balconies, with a proscenium box on each side decorated with a Corinthian column, reused from a chapel in the town. Three visible façades, with very simple openings (round-arched bays on the first floor of a main avant-corps housing the foyer). Manual machinery partly preserved. Enlargement of the main façade and redecoration in 1929-1930 (art-deco ironwork, Louis XVI style wallpapers), by the architect Talbourdeau fils, of Montluçon (1898-1975). Operated as a cinema from 1932 to 1984.
