Historique
Situé au cœur de la ville, le domaine du château de Neuvic s'étend sur un peu plus de 6 ha. Il se compose d'une demeure, de dépendances et d'un parc agricole paysager, labellisé « jardin remarquable » depuis 2007. Le domaine de Neuvic entre dans la famille d'Ussel lors du mariage en 1808 de Jean-Jacques d'Ussel et d'Henriette du Giraudeix, (fille de Marie-Antoine du Giraudeix, maire de Neuvic et seule héritière du domaine) qui se compose alors d'une « grande maison à pavillons », de dépendances et d'un parc d'environ 5 ha. La demeure est détruite lors d'un incendie en 1822 qui ravage une grande partie du bourg. C'est à leur fils Jean-Hyacinthe, dit Alfred, que l'on doit le domaine tel qu'il se présente aujourd'hui. Il en hérite en 1831 et décide de s'y installer. Il fait rebâtir la demeure, dans un style assez sobre et redessine le parc dans l'esprit des parcs agricoles paysagers, tout en conservant les essences déjà implantées (tulipier de Virginie planté en 1817 et un hêtre pourpre planté en 1820). Très attaché à promouvoir l'agriculture et la sylviculture en Haute-Corrèze, il est également à l'origine de l'installation d'une ferme-école sur son domaine en 1849. La restauration et la mise en valeur du parc se poursuivent activement avec l'aide du paysagiste Laurent Berthelier. Le parc est ouvert à la visite.

History
Situated in the heart of the town, the estate of the château de Neuvic extends over just over 6 hectares. It consists of a dwelling, outbuildings and a landscaped agricultural park, labelled a "remarkable garden" since 2007. The estate of Neuvic came into the family of d'Ussel through the marriage in 1808 of Jean-Jacques d'Ussel and Henriette du Giraudeix, (daughter of Marie-Antoine du Giraudeix, mayor of Neuvic and sole heiress of the estate) which then consisted of a "large house with pavilions", outbuildings and a park of approximately 5 hectares. The dwelling was destroyed in a fire in 1822 which devastated a large part of the town. It is to their son Jean-Hyacinthe, known as Alfred, that we owe the estate as it appears today. He inherited it in 1831 and decided to settle there. He had the dwelling rebuilt in a fairly sober style and redesigned the park in the spirit of landscaped agricultural parks, while preserving the species already established there (Virginian tulip tree planted in 1817 and a purple beech planted in 1820).
