Historique
Artiste de renommée nationale au début du 20ème siècle, Henri Proszynski réalisa quatre sculptures, à Neuvic, entre 1934 et 1949. La fontaine « Printemps » ou « Fontaine du Berger » est installée en 1934. En 1937, la conception d'un jardin public est confiée à l'architecte Mellon tandis que Proszynski est chargé de la décoration. Il exécute, alors, deux cariatides destinées à soutenir le préau. La petite fontaine de la Poule, en béton recouvert d'une mosaïque est installée en contrebas du jardin. A proximité, l'entrée du lycée professionnel Marcel-Barbanceys, est constituée de huit cariatides reliées entre elles par une guirlande. L'ensemble de l'oeuvre de l'artiste se caractérise par sa diversité typologique et sa cohérence stylistique, évoluant au fil du temps d'une approche plastique Art Déco (fontaine du berger) à une véritable géométrisation avec les Cariatides du préau.

History
An artist of national renown in the early 20th century, Henri Proszynski created four sculptures at Neuvic between 1934 and 1949. The fountain 'Printemps' or 'Fontaine du Berger' was installed in 1934. In 1937, the design of a public garden was entrusted to architect Mellon while Proszynski was charged with the decoration.
