Immeuble complètement reconstruit dans la seconde moitié du 18e siècle, adoptant le plan en U entre cour et jardin des grands hôtels rochelais qui sont réédifiés à cette époque dans la partie occidentale de la ville. Une grande partie des ailes latérales, servant essentiellement de magasins, a été dissociée du corps principal d'habitation. Le corps de logis se situe entre cour et jardin. Une partie de l'aile sud abrite le corps de bibliothèque boisé et le bureau à cylindre. La cour était utilisée par Jacob Lambertz pour ses observations météorologiques.

History
Building completely rebuilt in the second half of the 18th century, adopting the U-shaped plan between courtyard and garden of the great La Rochelle townhouses which are rebuilt at that time in the western part of the city. A large part of the lateral wings, serving essentially as warehouses, has been dissociated from the main dwelling body. The body of lodging is situated between courtyard and garden. Part of the south wing houses the wood-panelled library body and the cylinder desk. The courtyard was used by Jacob Lambertz for his meteorological observations.
