Le protestantisme prend son essor dans la ville de Pons vers le dernier tiers du 16e siècle. Un premier temple est construit à l'emplacement de l'église Saint-Sauveur. Ce temple se révèle trop petit et un édifice plus vaste est construit, terminé en 1603. En 1629, le temple est confisqué et devient chapelle des Récollets, puis église paroissiale Saint-Martin à la fin du 18e siècle. Les protestants, après édification d'un nouveau temple au 17e siècle, ne retrouvent un lieu de culte officiel qu'après la Révolution (ancienne chapelle des Dames de la Foi). L'ancien temple protestant est un édifice rectangulaire doté d'un transept dont le bras sud est surmonté d'un clocher carré construit vers 1829-1833. Les murs de la partie occidentale du monument sont ceux du temple du 17e siècle. La partie orientale des élévations est entièrement 19e siècle. History
Protestantism gains momentum in the town of Pons towards the last third of the 16th century. A first temple is constructed at the location of the church of Saint-Sauveur. This temple proves too small and a larger building is constructed, completed in 1603. In 1629, the temple is confiscated and becomes the chapel of the Récollets, then the parish church of Saint-Martin at the end of the 18th century. The Protestants, after building a new temple in the 17th century, do not find an official place of worship again until after the Revolution (former chapel of the Dames de la Foi). The former Protestant temple is a rectangular building with a transept whose south arm is surmounted by a square bell tower constructed around 1829-1833. The walls of the western part of the monument are those of the 17th century temple. The eastern part of the elevations is entirely from the 19th century. All the interior fittings date from the campaign of works 1829-1833.
