Ce moulin a été construit en 1820 sur une butte, qui domine vignobles, marais boisés et campagne vallonnée. Il se dresse au-dessus dune motte artificielle aménagée en une salle circulaire reliée à la cour de la maison par un étroit couloir dune dizaine de mètres. Ce moulin à vent, à farine, de type tour, est de proportions racées et la finition parfaitement arrondie de sa pierre de taille, posée à joints vifs, est typiquement charentaise. Son toit, conique et élancé, autrefois couvert de bardeau, lest aujourdhui en pin du Canada. Il est équipé de ses meules et mécanismes et pourvu d'ailes Berton. Ce moulin se distingue par le fait quil fut le dernier à fonctionner en Charente-Maritime, quil a conservé ses mécanismes qui témoignent de lévolution du type du milieu du 19e siècle jusquau début du 20e siècle, et quil est globalement en état.

History
This mill was built in 1820 on a knoll, which dominates vineyards, wooded marshes and rolling countryside. It rises above an artificial motte fitted out as a circular chamber linked to the house courtyard by a narrow corridor of about ten metres. This windmill, flour mill, of the tower type, is of refined proportions and the perfectly rounded finish of its ashlar, laid with tight joints, is typically Charentais. Its roof, conical and slender, formerly covered with shingles, is today in Canadian pine. It is equipped with its millstones and mechanisms and provided with Berton sails. This mill is distinguished by the fact that it was the last to operate in Charente-Maritime, that it has preserved its mechanisms which testify to the evolution of the type from the middle of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, and that it is overall in good condition.
