Ancienne bastide de la fin du 13e siècle (1271) par Alphonse de Poitiers, frère de Louis IX. A l'est du village, une butte naturelle a fait l'objet au Moyen-Age d'aménagements défensifs pour protéger une place-forte dont subsiste le donjon de la fin du 15e siècle. Le donjon, de plan quadrangulaire, est à trois étages sur rez-de-chaussée et étage de comble. Le rez-de-chaussée est voûté. Un escalier en vis en demi hors-oeuvre dessert les étages. Planchers et toiture ont disparu.

History
Former bastide of the late 13th century (1271) by Alphonse of Poitiers, brother of Louis IX. To the east of the village, a natural hillock was the subject in the Middle Ages of defensive arrangements to protect a stronghold of which the keep from the late 15th century remains. The keep, of quadrangular plan, has three storeys over ground floor and roof storey. The ground floor is vaulted. A spiral staircase in semi-projection serves the storeys. Floors and roof have disappeared.
