Le carré français des morts du 11 novembre 1918 de Vrigne-Meuse se trouve dans le cimetière communal situé autour de léglise. Groupées autour du monument aux morts de la commune les tombes de 18 soldats du 415e RI, dont celle dAugustin Trébuchon, dernier mort français de la Grande Guerre, forment un espace quadrangulaire entouré dune chaîne métallique prenant appui sur des ogives dobus formant clôture. Lentrée du carré est matérialisée par un espace gravillonné qui entoure le monument aux morts. Huit tombes se répartissent de part et dautre de lallée centrale, chaque croix regarde vers lextérieur. Deux tombes se situent au centre de lespace gravillonné, devant le monument aux morts. Le monument aux morts communal est représentatif de lensemble des monuments communaux édifiés au sortir de la guerre dans les villages dEurope. Le carré militaire et le monument aux morts du cimetière de Vrigne-Meuse présentent au point de vue de lhistoire et de lart un intérêt suffisant rappelant une des dernières opérations militaires avant larmistice du 11 novembre 1918 et les derniers combattants « morts pour la France ».

History
The French square of the dead of 11 November 1918 in Vrigne-Meuse is located in the communal cemetery situated around the church. Grouped around the war memorial of the commune, the tombs of 18 soldiers of the 415th RI, including that of Augustin Trébuchon, the last French casualty of the Great War, form a quadrangular space surrounded by a metal chain resting on shell ogives forming a fence. The entrance to the square is marked by a gravelled area which surrounds the war memorial. Eight tombs are distributed on either side of the central path, each cross facing outward. Two tombs are located in the centre of the gravelled area, in front of the war memorial. The communal war memorial is representative of all the communal memorials built at the end of the war in the villages of Europe. The military square and the war memorial of the cemetery in Vrigne-Meuse present from the point of view of history and art sufficient interest, recalling one of the last military operations before the armistice of 11 November 1918 and the last combatants "died for France".
