Construite en 1822-1823 par le maître de forges Jean-Nicolas Gendarme l'usine aligne trois corps de bâtiments sous ses réserves d'eau compartimentées pour répondre aux besoins en force hydraulique. History
Built in 1822-1823 by master of forges Jean-Nicolas Gendarme the factory lines up three building blocks under its compartmented water reserves to meet the needs for hydraulic power. One of the buildings housed the forge and the rolling mill as well as a puddling furnace, operating on coke. The blast furnace under its shed ran on charcoal; this fuel was stored in the two neighbouring sheds. Workers' housing, of which the owner's mansion is contemporary, dates from 1825.
