La demeure de Victoire Schmitz, femme d'affaires avisée, fut construite entre 1884 et 1887 par l'architecte niçois Vincent Levrot, dans le cadre paysager particulièrement préservé du Mont-Gros. History
The residence of Victoire Schmitz, a shrewd businesswoman, was built between 1884 and 1887 by architect Vincent Levrot from Nice, within the particularly preserved landscape setting of Mont-Gros. Its architecture, directly inspired by villas of the Italian Renaissance, is simple and elegant and is distinguished by the care given to the smallest details of its construction as well as the quality of its interior decoration. The layout is organised around a central bay of great amplitude with a salon, dining room, smoking room, kitchen and its pantry. The floors are occupied by bedrooms and other secondary rooms. The garden, overlooked by the house, consists of a superposition of three terraces. Modest in its landscape design, it is remarkable for its structures.
