Historique
Initialement un ensemble fortifié médiéval entouré par des douves en eau, le château fut reconstruit au début du 17ème siècle, à la manière bourbonnaise, en briques polychromes et pierres. De plan massé, il est précédé, à l'est, d'une cour bornée par des douves. Dans les années 1860, d'importants travaux sont entrepris avec la réalisation de quatre tours aux angles du château, une aile de communs et un pavillon carré utilisé comme garde-manger et lingerie. Une chapelle à portail Néo-Renaissance est également édifiée. Un jardin est aménagé au nord abritant une orangerie et un bûcher tandis qu'un pigeonnier se dresse à l'ouest. Les intérieurs de la bâtisse renferment des aménagements datant des 17ème, 18ème et 19ème siècles.

History
Initially a medieval fortified complex surrounded by water-filled moats, the château was rebuilt in the early 17th century, in the Bourbon manner, in polychrome bricks and stone. Massively planned, it is preceded, to the east, by a courtyard bordered by moats. In the 1860s, major works were undertaken with the construction of four towers at the corners of the château, a wing of service buildings and a square pavilion used as a storeroom and linen room. A chapel with Neo-Renaissance portal was also built. A garden was laid out to the north housing an orangery and a wood store while a dovecote stands to the west. The interiors of the building contain fittings dating from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
