Si la création de la scierie de la société Prout Frères remonte à 1874, la cheminée de l'usine porte la date de 1889. History
While the creation of the sawmill of the Prout Frères company dates back to 1874, the chimney of the factory bears the date of 1889. The first steam engine of the factory was replaced in 1928 by a more powerful double-expansion engine, produced by the Windsor workshops in Rouen. Connected to an alternator generator and a dynamo, it produced the electricity necessary for the operation of a sawmill built by M. Prout around 1874.
