History
Battery comprising four casemates for 105 mm cannons and a fire control post, situated mid-slope on the flank of the Roule mountain, below the French fortifications of the 19th century and dominating the town and port. Featuring accesses cut into the rock, this battery is a representative testimony to the defensive system, known as the Atlantic Wall, put in place by the Todt organization from the summer of 1942.
