Galerie marchande à un seul accès, construite de 1923 à 1924 par l'architecte Ferdinand Bauguil pour le compte de Théo Cremnitz, promoteur de cet ensemble de "magasins d'exposition". Appelé "Palais du Commerce", l'édifice abritait une cinquantaine de magasins et ateliers, tous à l'abandon aujourd'hui. Constitué de deux niveaux de galeries ouvertes sur des coursives, la galerie est en béton armé. Les sols pavés de verre et une verrière en fond de galerie éclairent l'ensemble. Le sous-sol abrite un bal-musette, "La Java", qui a vu débuter, entre autres, Edith Piaf et Maurice Chevalier.

History
Shopping gallery with a single access, constructed from 1923 to 1924 by architect Ferdinand Bauguil on behalf of Théo Cremnitz, developer of this ensemble of "display shops". Called "Palais du Commerce", the edifice housed about fifty shops and workshops, all abandoned today. Consisting of two levels of galleries open onto corridors, the gallery is in reinforced concrete. Glass-paved floors and a glass roof at the end of the gallery light the whole. The basement houses a musette dance hall, "La Java", which saw, among others, Edith Piaf and Maurice Chevalier make their debuts.
