Maison cantonale comportant un commissariat de police, un prétoire de la justice de paix, une bibliothèque, une salle de conférences et des bureaux municipaux. Construite dans le quartier de la Bastide sur la rive droite de la Garonne, la maison est conçue par l'architecte Cyprien Alfred-Duprat en 1913, mais, retardée par la Guerre, la construction ne démarre qu'en 1924 pour s'achever en 1925. History
Cantonal house comprising a police station, a justice of the peace court, a library, a conference hall and municipal offices. Built in the Bastide quarter on the right bank of the Garonne, the house is designed by architect Cyprien Alfred-Duprat in 1913, but, delayed by War, construction does not begin until 1924 and ends in 1925. The style of the original project, mixing neo-gothic and Art Nouveau influences, unusual in Bordeaux, survives, but the interior decoration (friezes in stoneware by the company Gentil and Bourdet of Boulogne-Billancourt, sculpture by the business of Edmond Tuffet) is more inscribed in the Art Deco movement.
