Palais de Justice construit à l'emplacement de l'ancien couvent des Célestins par les architectes du département Jean Herbault et Natalis Daullé entre 1865 et 1880, dans le style néo-classique. Il s'agit du premier exemple en France de Palais de Justice regroupant dans un même lieu l'ensemble des services judiciaires territoriaux. Les aménagements intérieurs, traités dans l'esprit du répertoire décoratif éclectique du 19e siècle, conservent un ensemble important de boiseries exécutées par François Cressent vers 1705 pour le couvent des Célestins et réintégrées dans l'ornementation des bâtiments du tribunal.

History
Palace of Justice built on the site of the former convent of the Celestines by the departmental architects Jean Herbault and Natalis Daullé between 1865 and 1880, in the neo-classical style. This is the first example in France of a Palace of Justice bringing together in one place all the territorial judicial services. The interior fittings, treated in the spirit of the eclectic decorative repertoire of the 19th century, preserve an important set of woodwork executed by François Cressent around 1705 for the convent of the Celestines and reintegrated into the ornamentation of the tribunal buildings.
