Historique

History
The Ciboure light, realized by André Pavlovsky with that of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, is the reconstruction of an earlier light which presented itself in the form of a square tower with a ridge terrace supported by consoles. Pavlovsky enclosed this work in the lower part of his creation. The corbelled handrail of this first construction projects into the south façade of the light. This one, of square plan, presents itself in the form of a volume tapering towards the summit. This light is underlined to the south by two superposed gable walls crowned by a pediment, the upper wall being set back. These two upper levels, covered in barrel tile, shelter the optical system. On the north façade, facing the ocean, the bay of openings is underlined by a wide vertical band painted green, linking continuously the base of the first floor to the penultimate window of the summit. Inside, the first two floors are devoted to the dwelling of the keeper.
