L'église Saint Clair de Gouts est un édifice gothique remanié au 15e siècle, de plan rectangulaire de trois travées et un chevet plat. Cette église fut fortifiée au 15e siècle, ses murs gouttereaux crénelés et son clocher-mur renforcé d'une coursière dont l'assommoir défend la porte d'entrée de l'édifice. L'intérieur est orné de peintures murales du 16e siècle ayant pour thème la crucifixion. Le choeur est enfind écoré d'arcatures néo-gothiques en trompe-l'oeil. L'église et le cimetière attenant sont entourés d'un mur de clôture qui joua également un rôle défensif. Enfin trois fontaines miraculeuses qui firent la richesse de l'église se trouvent à proximité du sanctuaire au bord du Ciron.

History
The church of Saint Clair de Gouts is a Gothic building remodelled in the 15th century, of rectangular plan with three bays and a flat chevet. This church was fortified in the 15th century, its guttered walls crenellated and its bell-wall reinforced with a gallery whose machicolations defend the entrance door of the building. The interior is adorned with wall paintings of the 16th century on the theme of the crucifixion. The choir is finally decorated with neo-gothic arcatures in trompe-l'oeil. The church and the adjoining cemetery are surrounded by a boundary wall which also played a defensive role. Finally three miraculous fountains which brought wealth to the church are found near the sanctuary on the edge of the Ciron.
