History
The town of Alençon preserves, in the town centre, a certain number of small private mansions from the 18th century. These are simple constructions, typical of provincial society of that period, based on an educated merchant bourgeoisie. Externally, decorative elements are composed of balconies. The interiors have retained woodwork and furnishings. The ground floor is in ashlar with a moulded cornice separating it from the storey constructed in rubble stone. An 18th-century Virgin is set into the corner, coming from the gate of Lancrel destroyed around 1750.
