History
Foundation of a monastery in the 6th century by the abbot Marcouf. In 905, the establishment was sacked by the Scandinavians. Around 1093, the abbey of Cerisy re-established a priory. The Romanesque church stands on a crypt covered with a groin vault supported by eight columns. The present building retains several elements of the original construction (herringbone masonry, openings, modillions). Perforations and openings date from the 13th century.
