Historique

History
Presence of a feudal motte predating the 15th century. Building constructed in the second half of the 15th century. Mural paintings, now disappeared and which could date from the years 1520-1530, adorned the main room on the upper floor. They represented a horseman wearing a hat who was hunting beside a fountain. Another portion of frescoes represented the château and the church of the town, and was adorned with a coat of arms with a Gothic inscription. The other interventions date to the 18th century, with interior works to bring up to date and decoration. Between 1863 and 1870, works carried out by the monks, in particular on the west elevation of the dwelling which was pierced. The pilaster strips that flanked it were removed in the 20th century. The gallery with groined vault supporting a terrace accessed by a spiral staircase leading to the first floor also dates from this period of work. The monks also undertook work inside the dwelling in the 19th century with renewal of the roof structure, ceilings and internal walls. In the surroundings of the dwelling, the moats which surrounded the supporting wall were filled with materials from the works. A barn, stables and a dwelling were built below the west supporting wall. After the monks, the outbuildings forming a court to the north-west of the dwelling experienced significant alterations. The dwelling continued to undergo modifications during the 20th century, and served as a grain store.
