L'église est connue dès 1119. Le prieuré-cure de Coussay dépendait de l'abbaye de Cormery. Le cardinal de Richelieu fut prieur de Coussay et y fit de fréquents séjours. Abside en hémicycle. Doubleaux sur demi-colonnes à chapiteaux sculptés (décor à personnages, animaux et végétaux). La façade occidentale (environ de 1400) s'ouvre par un portail en anse de panier, surmonté d'un arc en accolade fleuronné. Au-dessus, fenêtre avec remplage du début de la période flamboyante. Les trois premières travées de la nef sont une réfection.

History
The church is known from 1119. The priory-cure of Coussay was dependent on the abbey of Cormery. Cardinal de Richelieu was prior of Coussay and made frequent stays there. Apse in hemicycle. Doubleaux on half-columns with sculpted capitals (decoration with figures, animals and vegetation). The western façade (around 1400) opens with a portal in basket-handle arch, surmounted by a florid arch in accolade. Above, window with tracery of the early Flamboyant period. The three first bays of the nave are a refection.
