Historique

History
The dwelling was built in the early years of the Renaissance. However, a 15th-century tower, the origin of the name, must have pre-existed the 16th-century dwelling and the 17th-18th century service buildings. The dwelling, surrounded by a moat, is built on a north-south axis. The round tower is attached to a rectangular building north of the dwelling, on an east-west axis. A row of rectangular service buildings, with a round dovecot, close off the west side of the courtyard. The round tower has covered machicolations, two storeys, with fireplaces and traces of wall paintings. The dwelling forms a rectangle supported by two round towers at the south-east and south-west. Renaissance dormers with pyramidal crowning, flanked by ornaments in the form of candelabras. Fortified doorway of which only two buttresses remain which were to support two tourelles in corbel, framing a bretèche (disappeared) on consoles. The east elevation was enlarged to form a gallery on the upper floor (18th century), blocked in the 19th, braced with columns. The interior has preserved its rooms with monumental chimneys from the early Renaissance and the late 18th century.
