History

The part built in 1572 was constructed by Dominique du Bourg, counsellor of kings Henri III and Henri IV. Pillaged at the Revolution, the hotel retained part of its woodwork. The building comprises a main dwelling with garden, to which is joined a wing on rue Martineau, with courtyard, and another wing devoted to services, isolating the courtyard from the garden. The 16th-century part is built in ashlar and surmounted by dormers. A late 16th-century door gives access to this part. The other part presents itself as an 18th-century construction: arched lintels, windows with small panes and vertical crosspieces, arched doors and pediments, 18th-century dormers with pediment. It is possible that the main structure predates its piercing in 18th-century style. The interior decoration preserves two 18th-century fireplaces, as well as a wrought-iron ramp with volutes, typical of the Louis XV period.
