Historique
Les façades du château d'Usson ont été remontées sur le château d'Egreteaux en 1886. Le décor y a été réutilisé suivant une ordonnance architecturale très différente de l'origine. The façades of the château d'Usson were re-erected on the château d'Egreteaux in 1886. The decoration was reused there according to an architectural arrangement very different from the original. The château d'Usson formed a vast quadrilateral surrounding a large courtyard in the middle of which stood an isolated tower. On one of the long sides stood the main dwelling; on the opposite side, the gate-lodge and its dependencies. The château d'Egreteaux forms, by contrast, an open courtyard, framed by a central building and two return wings. The courtyard façades are ornamented by the folded façade of the former Usson façade. The isolated tower is now attached to a wing. Inside, these buildings contain rooms ornamented with elements of various origins. The central wing is a vast palmarium, lit by glazing in the roof space.
