Historique
Edifice à nef unique du 12e siècle, voûtée en berceau, avec abside en cul de four. Le clocher adossé au choeur était, au 12e siècle, une tour carrée s'élevant au-dessus d'une coupole sur trompes. Il a été surmonté, au 15e siècle, d'une flèche octogonale dont les quatre angles s'amortissent sur des pinacles. Suivant un type fréquent en Saintonge, la façade principale comporte trois divisions : l'une au centre pour la porte, les deux autres aux angles pour des arcatures à applique épaulant la porte. Une tablette soutenue par des corbelets sculptés, supporte une ordonnance de trois arcatures dont les arcs extradossés sont au nu du pignon. Les supports des arcs sont des pilastres cantonnés de deux colonnettes. Un décor d'archivoltes et une frise se poursuivent dans la hauteur des chapiteaux.

History
Building with a single nave from the 12th century, vaulted in barrel vault, with apse in cul-de-four. The bell tower against the choir was, in the 12th century, a square tower rising above a dome on squinches. It was surmounted, in the 15th century, by an octagonal spire whose four corners diminish on pinnacles. Following a type frequent in Saintonge, the main façade comprises three divisions: one in the centre for the door, the two others at the angles for arcatures with application buttressing the door. A string-course supported by sculpted corbels, supports an arrangement of three arcatures whose extrados arches are at the surface of the gable. The supports of the arches are pilasters flanked with two small columns. A decoration of archivolts and a frieze continues throughout the height of the capitals.
