Ce château est celui des sires de Polignac, seigneurs d'Escoyeux, Vénérand et autres lieux en 1554. La façade Renaissance du château présente une tourelle d'escalier en saillie desservant les étages, couverte en pierre. Les menuiseries sont d'un type intermédiaire entre les châssis des fenêtres à meneaux de l'époque intermédiaire précédente et les grandes croisées de l'époque classique. La charpente du corps de logis surélevé est à chevrons portant ferme, et date du 16e siècle, époque de la construction. History
This castle is that of the lords of Polignac, lords of Escoyeux, Vénérand and other places in 1554. The Renaissance façade of the castle presents a projecting staircase turret serving the floors, covered in stone. The joinery is of an intermediate type between the casements of the mullioned windows of the preceding intermediate period and the large cross-windows of the classical period. The roof structure of the raised main dwelling has chevrons bearing trusses, and dates from the 16th century, the period of construction. Adjacent to the castle, the 14th-century tower presents five faces of unequal width, joined together by ribs reinforced with ashlar quoins, which converge by the north-east and north-west faces towards the north forming a sharper edge than the others.
