L'église était à la collation directe des évêques d'Angoulême auxquels elle avait été attribuée en 1110. L'édifice comporte deux chapelles du 13e siècle au sud. L'une était le lieu de sépulture des seigneurs de Planchemesnier, l'autre des seigneurs de Nanteuil. L'édifice est de plan rectangulaire, à une seule nef et abside semi-circulaire. Le carré du transept est couvert par une coupole sur trompe. L'abside est voûtée en cul de four. Le clocher se dresse sur le carré du transept.

History
The church was in the direct patronage of the bishops of Angoulême to whom it had been granted in 1110. The building comprises two chapels of the 13th century to the south. One was the place of burial of the lords of Planchemesnier, the other of the lords of Nanteuil. The building is of rectangular plan, with a single nave and semi-circular apse. The square of the transept is covered by a dome on squinch. The apse is vaulted in apse. The bell tower rises on the square of the transept.
