Située près de l'ancien château-fort, cette église aurait pu être la chapelle castrale. Elle dépendait de l'abbaye de Charroux, dans la Vienne. Son plan dessine sensiblement une croix grecque. Le chevet présente une abside et des absidioles semi-circulaires, couvertes de culs de fours. La croisée du transept est couverte d'une coupole sur trompes. Un escalier, accessible depuis le choeur, permet de monter au clocher. Des peintures sont conservées sur le mur intérieur du choeur, représentant une suite de guirlandes de fleurs. Près de l'entrée de la crypte voûtée en berceau, sous le sanctuaire, se trouve une pierre tombale.

History
Situated near the former castle-fortress, this church could have been the castle chapel. It depended on the abbey of Charroux, in the Vienne. Its plan draws roughly a Greek cross. The chevet presents an apse and semi-circular absidioles, covered with apses. The crossing of the transept is covered with a dome on squinches. A staircase, accessible from the choir, allows one to climb to the bell tower. Paintings are preserved on the inner wall of the choir, representing a succession of flower garlands. Near the entrance of the barrel-vaulted crypt, under the sanctuary, is found a tombstone.
