Le château a dû être construit aux environs de 1540, modifié vers 1628 puis 1770. En 1870, l'édifice fut en partie détruit par un incendie. Il se compose de deux corps de logis et de communs, le tout fermé par une grille. La façade est flanquée, vers la rivière et aux angles, de tours poivrières. La façade sud de ce corps de logis possède également une tour en forte saillie contenant l'escalier et dont la porte d'entrée est sculptée (médaillon contenant le monogramme du Christ ; entrelacement rubané). La façade nord, qui donne sur la rivière, conserve deux lucarnes aux frontons sculptés de motifs renaissants. Deux tours lui sont accolées, chacune percée de meurtrières de type différent. La façade ouest, actuel accès au château, présente un porche qui remplace l'ancien pont-levis. Ce porche du 17e siècle comprend la porte principale et la poterne. Pilastres à chapiteaux ornés de feuilles d'acanthe et supportant un entablement. Une troisième tour est accolée à cette façade, percée de quatre meurtrières pivotantes. Sur la façade est, les traces d'un chemin de ronde apparaissaient dans le mur du bâtiment construit en 1770.

History
The castle must have been built around 1540, modified towards 1628 then 1770. In 1870, the building was partly destroyed by fire. It consists of two main dwellings and outbuildings, all enclosed by a gate. The façade is flanked, towards the river and at the corners, by pepper-pot towers. The south façade of this main dwelling also possesses a tower in strong projection containing the staircase and whose entrance door is carved (medallion containing the monogram of Christ; ribbon interlacing). The north façade, which opens onto the river, retains two dormers with gables carved with Renaissance motifs. Two towers are attached to it, each pierced with loopholes of different type. The west façade, current access to the castle, presents a porch which replaces the old drawbridge. This 17th-century porch comprises the main door and the postern. Pilasters with capitals adorned with acanthus leaves and supporting an entablature. A third tower is attached to this façade, pierced with four rotating loopholes. On the east façade, traces of a wall-walk appeared in the wall of the building constructed in 1770.
