Historique

History
The main dwelling appears to have been constructed at the end of the 16th century or beginning of the 17th. An additional building was added in the 18th century, to the north-east, in the extension of the main dwelling. In the 19th century, addition of a building of outbuildings in return against the principal façade, on the west side, and alteration of the openings of the garden façade. This main dwelling illustrates what could have been the architecture of small rural seigneuries in the region, at the end of the 16th or beginning of the 17th century. The basic plan presents a rectangle flanked, on two corners, by turrets, square at Nanclas. The stone staircase with ramped flights divides the two habitable levels into four rooms in total. The only sculptured element is generally the entrance door on the principal façade. Here, this door has a round arch. Flat pilasters passing over the impost at the springing of the arch support a curvilinear pediment with volutes, interrupted by a niche which was to carry coats of arms. This niche is itself surmounted by a curved pediment. Inside, the dining room on the ground floor retains a fireplace with a hood decorated with paintings which appear to date from the 17th century. Above the dining room, a room retains a wooden fireplace decorated with a painted canvas from the second half of the 18th century. To the south of the main dwelling stands the circular dovecote which has retained its old roof structure with pegs. In the garden, sundial dated 1714, with eighteen faces.
