Historique
La première église fut fondée au 11e siècle par les moines de l'abbaye bénédictine de la Chaise-Dieu. A partir de 1846, l'église n'est plus utilisée pour le culte paroissial. D'apparence romane mais bâtie au 14e siècle à l'emplacement de l'ancien édifice, l'église présente un plan très simple avec nef unique, petites chapelles latérales et abside semi-circulaire à sept pans. Près du portail en arc brisé, constitué de voussures remplies par boudins, se trouve un escalier à vis en pierre qui devait assurer l'accès au clocher disparu. Seuls deux restes de murs permettent de le situer et de penser qu'il s'agissait d'un clocher-mur. A l'intérieur, plusieurs niches sont construites dans le mur. Deux d'entre elles ont un linteau en forme d'arc flamboyant.

History
The first church was founded in the 11th century by the monks of the Benedictine abbey of la Chaise-Dieu. From 1846, the church is no longer used for parish worship. Of Romanesque appearance but built in the 14th century on the site of the old edifice, the church presents a very simple plan with single nave, small lateral chapels and a semi-circular apse with seven faces. Near the portal with a pointed arch, composed of voussoirs filled with mouldings, is found a spiral stone staircase which must have provided access to the vanished bell tower. Only two wall remains allow it to be located and suggest that it was a wall bell tower. Inside, several niches are built into the wall. Two of them have a lintel in the shape of a flamboyant arch.
