Grisac was erected into a marquisate in the 14th century. In 1309 was born there Guillaume de Grimoard who became pope in 1362 under the name of Urban V. He spent part of his childhood there. The essential part of the medieval construction must have been built around the middle of the 14th century and doubtless enlarged in the 15th. The building was abandoned at the end of the 15th century. From the 17th to the 19th century, important transformations were carried out and, in the 19th century, the domain was transformed into an agricultural holding and communal school. The main mass of the building is rectangular in plan and presents: the vestiges of a watchtower; a central body partly collapsed; a mass developed as a dwelling to the east; a terrace and vestiges of constructions to the south; a large farm courtyard to the north, bounded by small recent farm buildings; a two-storey barn to the west and another to the east. Around this complex, vestiges of defensive devices could be identified.
