Historique
Hôtel construit par l'architecte Jean Antoine Giral, de 1752 à 1757, avec les fonds légués au collège des chirurgiens par François de la Peyronnie, premier chirurgien de Louis XV, pour servir "d'amphithéâtre pour les démonstrations anatomiques et de logements pour les assemblées des Maîtres en Chirurgie". L'édifice comprend trois parties. En façade sur la Grande Rue, un bâtiment à un étage comportant, au rez-de-chaussée, un portique couvert de voûtes plates appareillées, supportées par des colonnes doriques. History
Hôtel built by the architect Jean Antoine Giral, from 1752 to 1757, with funds bequeathed to the college of surgeons by François de la Peyronnie, first surgeon to Louis XV, to serve "as an amphitheatre for anatomical demonstrations and as lodgings for the assemblies of the Masters of Surgery". The building comprises three parts. On the façade on the Grande Rue, a building of one storey comprising, on the ground floor, a portico covered with flat barrel vaults, supported by Doric columns. Avant-corps forming a balcony on the first floor, lit by arched windows between paired pilasters. Then a rotunda covered with a dome, which was divided into two storeys. Finally, a vestibule with a staircase formerly in loggia and connecting the two previous building sections.
