L'immeuble fut vendu en 1661 à Jean Querelles, procureur du roi au Sénéchal et présidial de Montpellier. La même année, il prit possession de la maison voisine. Les deux ensembles furent ensuite regroupés. La maison a été dotée d'un escalier sculpté. Aux portes palières du premier étage, les sculptures à personnages, feuillages et ornements divers, couvrent aussi bien le linteau que les piédroits. A mi-hauteur de ceux-ci figurent deux blasons portant les armes des Querelles. L'escalier et ses sculptures datent de la période 1661-1687.

History
The building was sold in 1661 to Jean Querelles, procurator of the king at the Seneschal and presidial of Montpellier. The same year, he took possession of the neighbouring house. The two ensembles were subsequently regrouped. The house was given a carved staircase. At the landing doors of the first floor, the sculptures with figures, foliage and various ornaments, cover both the lintel and the jambs.
