This house belonged to the Hostalier de Saint-Jean. This vast construction comprises two buildings which have belonged to the same owner since the early 18th century (compoix of 1738). The Reformed of Montpellier assembled several times in this house, and notably on 28 September 1685. That day, the religious leaders decided on the means to resist the pressures that would be exercised against them after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. The rectangular portal presents an inner moulded frame of a cyma. The centre of the lintel is charged with a console keystone, decorated with a flat palmette, in fan shape. The lateral pilasters bear Ionic capitals whose echinus is carved with three ovae. The door-leaves are old. At the upper part, the fixed transom is the most remarkable part of this portal. A central caryatid separates the two panels. The cross-beam is carved with laurel leaves and ribbons. A passage separates the portal from the courtyard. At the far end, the south-east façade rises two storeys above ground level, with two openings per storey. The base is pierced with two basket-handle arches doors, with solid tympanum. The mouldings of the transoms, superimposed rules, quarter-round and listel, continue on the lintel below the tympanum. The arch is moulded with rules and fillets. Its keystone is decorated with a head in high relief. The keystones of the windows of the first storey are decorated with heads in low relief.
