Erigée d'abord sur la place de la Canourgue, cette fontaine avait été dessinée par Jacques Donnat, architecte de la ville. La sculpture fut confiée à Etienne Dantoine. Le 19 floréal an V, elle fut transportée sur la place de la Comédie, devant la salle de spectacle. La vasque proviendrait d'un remploi des marbres du soubassement de la statue de Louis XIV au Peyrou, détruite pendant la Révolution. Au centre, sur un entassement de rochers, des amours sont répartis en trois groupes de deux. Sur ce piédestal, une petite plateforme circulaire supporte un socle torsadé, en marbre, qui fait partie du groupe des Trois grâces. Celles-ci sont debout, dos à dos, se tenant par la main, un bras levé, l'autre abaissé. En même temps, leurs mains tiennent des guirlandes de roses.

History
Erected first on the Place de la Canourgue, this fountain had been designed by Jacques Donnat, architect of the city. The sculpture was entrusted to Etienne Dantoine. On 19 Floréal year V, it was transported to the Place de la Comédie, in front of the theatre. The basin would come from a reuse of marbles from the base of the statue of Louis XIV at the Peyrou, destroyed during the Revolution. In the center, on an accumulation of rocks, cupids are arranged in three groups of two. On this pedestal, a small circular platform supports a twisted socle, in marble, which forms part of the group of the Three Graces. These are standing, back to back, holding each other by the hand, one arm raised, the other lowered. At the same time, their hands hold garlands of roses.
