La construction de cet édifice ne doit pas être antérieure à 1676. Manufacturiers lodévois, les Salze furent remplacés, après la Révolution, par Pierre Ménard, lui-même filateur. Tous ces propriétaires disposaient de larges moyens financiers, d'où l'importance de leur immeuble et le soin apporté à l'adapter aux goûts du temps. Il est probable que la façade, qui est la partie la mieux conservée, date du début du 18e siècle. L'entrée est marquée par les encadrements de la porte, placée sous un arc plein cintre mouluré de règles, d'un filet, d'une doucine, d'un filet et d'un listel. La clef est décorée d'une tête de femme. Les écoinçons sont garnis de tableaux en relief, triangles à un côté curviligne. Les pilastres d'encadrement sont creusés de hauts tableaux rectangulaires, à cadre mouluré. Au-dessus, des consoles, ornées d'une feuille d'acanthe dressée et d'une coquille rabattue sur le rouleau supérieur, recouvrent les moulurations de l'imposte et descendent jusqu'au tableau du pilastre. Le tout est surmonté d'un entablement à larmier. Les vantaux anciens sont faits de panneaux rectangulaires, accolés deux par deux, assemblés par des clous à tête en losange. La traverse horizontale, au-dessus des vantaux, reproduit sur bois la mouluration des jambages.

History
The construction of this edifice should not be earlier than 1676. Manufacturers from Lodève, the Salze were replaced, after the Revolution, by Pierre Ménard, himself a spinner. All these owners had substantial financial means, hence the importance of their building and the care taken to adapt it to the tastes of the time. It is probable that the façade, which is the best preserved part, dates from the beginning of the 18th century. The entrance is marked by the frames of the door, placed under a round arch moulded with fillets, a fillet, a cyma, a fillet and a listel. The keystone is decorated with a woman's head. The spandrels are filled with relief panels, triangles with one curved side. The framing pilasters are hollowed out with tall rectangular panels, with moulded frame. Above, consoles, ornamented with an upright acanthus leaf and a shell turned back over the upper roll, cover the mouldings of the impost and descend to the panel of the pilaster. All this is topped by an entablature with larmier. The old leaves are made of rectangular panels, placed side by side, assembled by diamond-headed nails. The horizontal crossbar, above the leaves, reproduces in wood the moulding of the jambs.
