Historique

History
An old bridge existed at this location. A chronicle from 1675 indicates that it was swept away by a flood three hundred years previously and that only one arch remained. The new bridge was built in the same location. The project of engineer François Garipuy was accepted in 1774. Work was interrupted from 1790 to 1803 and completed in 1807. The structure is divided into three arches. The central arch is in basket-handle form with three centres, depressed to one third. The archivolt presents two projections. The lateral arches are round-arched. The masonry, different from that of the central arch, has bosses and rebates. The guard-rail is a convex tablet. Originally, quarter-circle wheel guards had been established along the parapets of the central arch.
