L'immeuble est situé à l'emplacement d'une tour détruite. La seule partie ancienne conservée entoure, du côté de la rue Basse, une petite cour au contour irrégulier et se compose notamment d'une façade rectiligne et de deux pans dégagés. Fenêtre à meneaux sculptés. La tourelle polygonale dépasse les immeubles adjacents et se termine par une plate-forme cantonnée de piliers octogonaux qui supportent une couverture plate moderne. La porte sur cour est accostée de pilastres décorés de cabochons circulaires ou demi-circulaires, sur des stylobates ornés de losanges. Chapiteaux sculptés. Au-dessus de la porte, la frise très haute constitue l'élément principal de la décoration (rinceau de feuillages, grandes marguerites, écu central). A droite, au-dessus du pilastre, une arcature abrite un personnage allégorique : femme nue, main gauche sur le sexe, la droite tenant un miroir ; à gauche, la réplique est donnée par un homme, voilé à la ceinture, la main gauche retenant ce voile, la droite appuyée sur une colonne. Ces personnages peuvent représenter les allégories de la prudence (femme) et de la force (homme). La date de 1547 est inscrite sur l'une des guirlandes. Cette date se rapporte sinon à l'ensemble de la construction, du moins au décor sculpté de cette porte.

History
The building is located on the site of a destroyed tower. The only old part preserved surrounds, on the side of the rue Basse, a small courtyard with an irregular outline and is composed notably of a rectilinear façade and two exposed sections. Window with sculpted mullions. The polygonal tower rises above the adjacent buildings and is terminated by a platform flanked with octagonal pillars which support a modern flat roof. The door onto the courtyard is accompanied by pilasters decorated with circular or semi-circular cabochons, on bases ornamented with lozenges. Sculpted capitals. Above the door, the very high frieze constitutes the principal element of the decoration (foliage scrollwork, large daisies, central shield). To the right, above the pilaster, an arcading shelters an allegorical figure: naked woman, left hand on the genitals, the right holding a mirror; to the left, the replica is given by a man, veiled at the waist, the left hand retaining this veil, the right resting on a column. These figures may represent the allegories of prudence (woman) and strength (man). The date 1547 is inscribed on one of the garlands. This date relates if not to the whole of the construction, then at least to the sculpted decoration of this door.
