Le piédestal de la croix est orné de trois blasons. Le blason central présente les armes de Pierre de la Jugie, archevêque de Narbonne (1347-1375), seigneur direct de Villerouge-Termenès. Les blasons qui encadrent celui-ci de chaque côté, portent une croix un peu ornemanée et au coeur de laquelle est un roc d'échiquier. La croix peut rappeler le chapitre de Saint-Just dont dépendait l'église de Villerouge. Sa forme particulière est une brisure des armes du chapitre et le roc d'échiquier rappellerait que Villerouge était le chef-lieu de l'archiprêtré du Termenès ou des Corbières.

History
The pedestal of the cross is decorated with three coats of arms. The central coat of arms presents the arms of Pierre de la Jugie, archbishop of Narbonne (1347-1375), direct lord of Villerouge-Termenès. The coats of arms which frame this one on each side bear a cross somewhat ornamented and at the heart of which is a chequered rock. The cross may recall the chapter of Saint-Just on which the church of Villerouge depended. Its particular form is a breaking of the arms of the chapter and the chequered rock would recall that Villerouge was the chief town of the archpriest of Termenès or of the Corbières.
