L'édifice actuel est une reconstruction du 19e siècle à l'emplacement d'une grande maison ancienne qui existait déjà au 16e siècle. L'îlot portait alors le nom d'"île Simon Dautemar". L'ancien hôtel Dautemar devait posséder une tourelle d'escalier en vis dont le tracé polygonal apparaît sur le plan du 18e siècle. Les seuls vestiges qui aient subsisté sont situés dans la cour : un puits à margelle de pierre et, au-dessus d'une porte, un écusson armorié. History
The present building is a 19th-century reconstruction on the site of a large old house that already existed in the 16th century. The block was then known as the 'île Simon Dautemar'. The old Dautemar hotel must have possessed a spiral stair turret whose polygonal outline appears on the 18th-century plan. The only vestiges that have survived are located in the courtyard: a well with a stone kerb and, above a door, an armorial escutcheon. This cartouche with scrollwork, in the style of the mid-17th century, defaced in its upper part, displays in a shield the coat of arms of the Ducup (consul of Narbonne in 1645). At a recent period, this escutcheon was painted inaccurately.
