La maison est moderne, ou très remaniée, et s'élève sur un emplacement qui appartint autrefois à l'église de la Major, avant d'être attribué au couvent de Sainte-Croix. Bien que les lettres patentes de l'établissement des Soeurs de la Croix ne datent que de 1673, c'est en 1649 qu'elles s'installèrent à cet endroit et reçurent leurs premiers dons, sous l'archiépiscopat de Claude de Rebé. Ce cartouche rappelait sans doute quelque don de ce prélat célèbre par sa munificence. Au chapeau qui surmonte l'écu pendent seulement six houppes de chaque côté. History
The house is modern, or very much remade, and stands on a location which formerly belonged to the church of the Major, before being attributed to the convent of Sainte-Croix. Although the letters patent of the establishment of the Sisters of the Cross date only from 1673, it was in 1649 that they settled at this location and received their first donations, under the archbishopric of Claude de Rebé. This cartouche no doubt recalled some gift from this prelate celebrated for his munificence. At the hat which surmounts the escutcheon hang only six tassels on each side. The coat of arms is "quarterly, at 1 and 4 of (or) three merlettes of (sable), 2 and 1, which is of Rebé; at 2 and 3 of (or) to the fess wavy of (gules) which is of the Liègue, and over all of (gules) three chevrons of (argent) which is of Faverges" (according to Sivade and Mullot).
