L'îlot portait le nom d'"île Saint-Ambroise". Il semble que la maison soit contemporaine des dépendances situées de l'autre côté de la rue et portant la date de 1615. En élévation, la façade comprend un rez-de-chaussée, un premier étage à grandes fenêtres sans ornements, et un second étage plus bas, à fenêtres carrées en forme de mezzanines. Le portail est le morceau le plus intéressant de par la remarquable conservation de ses vantaux. Les jambages sont ornés, à l'extérieur, de consoles plates, à volutes, supportant, à la manière d'un encorbellement vu de profil, les pilastres en décrochement qui soutiennent les retours d'angle de l'entablement. Les écoinçons sont ornés chacun d'une pyramide triangulaire en faible relief. Le portail s'ouvre, sous un dormant qui occupe le tympan, en trois vantaux dont le plus large, au milieu, sert normalement de porte piétonne, les petits vantaux latéraux n'étant rabattus que pour le passage des voitures. La cariatide centrale, les cartouches symétriques et jusqu'à la traverse horizontale gaînée de feuilles de laurier, sont intactes. La partie supérieure de la partie ouvrante est encore en assez bon état mais la porte basse a davantage souffet et a été en partie refaite. Dans la cour intérieure, les bâtiments sont disposés en U. La cour est prolongée par un parterre dont elle est séparée par une grille en partie ouvrante, portée par des piliers autrefois surmontés de grosses boules de pierre, aujourd'hui tombées. Sur la gauche, le puits s'intégrait à cette décoration. L'escalier est à deux volées séparées par un mur d'échiffre, avec quelques moulures rampantes.

History
The islet bore the name of "Île Saint-Ambroise". It appears that the house is contemporary with the outbuildings located on the other side of the street and bearing the date of 1615. The portal is the most interesting piece because of the remarkable preservation of its shutters. The spandrels are each ornamented with a pyramid in shallow relief. The portal opens, under a frame which occupies the tympanum, into three shutters, the widest of which, in the middle, normally serves as a pedestrian door, the small lateral shutters being folded back only for the passage of vehicles. The central caryatid, the symmetrical cartouches and even the horizontal crossbar sheathed with laurel leaves, are intact. The upper part of the opening part is still in fairly good condition but the lower door has suffered more and has been partly remade. In the inner courtyard, the buildings are arranged in a U-shape. The courtyard is extended by a parterre from which it is separated by a gate partly opening, carried by pillars formerly surmounted by large stone balls, now fallen. On the left, the well was integrated into this decoration. The staircase has two flights separated by a string wall, with some rampant mouldings.
