En 1329, le roi Philippe V accrode deux cents livres à la ville de Limoux pour la construction du Pont Neuf. Une grosse réfection y est menée en 1737 (réfection totale de deux avant-becs, des parapets, murs de face et bandeaux amont, à la deuxième et cinquième arches). Ce devis indique qu'il existait sur le pont une chapelle, bâtie sur l'avant-bec de la troisième pile, et que le pont était autrefois muni de portes fortifiées. L'ouvrage est à six arches. History
In 1329, King Philip V granted two hundred pounds to the town of Limoux for the construction of the Pont Neuf. Major repairs were carried out there in 1737 (complete refection of two cutwaters, parapets, facing walls and upstream bands, at the second and fifth arches). This specification indicates that there existed on the bridge a chapel, built on the cutwater of the third pier, and that the bridge was formerly fitted with fortified gates.
