History

The house retains painted ceilings and a turret from the early 16th century. Following the fashion of the time, the owner wished the great hall to be decorated with family coats of arms arranged in order of precedence, after those of the king and the lords on whom he depended. These paintings could have been executed between 1497 and 1509 and are solely reserved for the metopes. The coats of arms are framed with scrollwork executed in brush. Fifty-seven panels represent coats of arms, figures, animals or monsters, scenes... The house was profoundly altered in the 19th century. The small interior courtyard was covered over and transformed into a winter garden. The spiral staircase was demolished but the turret retained its Louis XII door. The great hall was divided into three parts: dining room, kitchen and wardrobe. In these alterations, around twenty painted panels were covered over.
